Finding his rhythm, discovering his gifts and inspiring others
Ramathan Sebugwawo, affectionately known as Rama, is a young man whose energy, creativity and passion for music are impossible to miss.
Rama has always had a love for music and dance, and today he is turning that passion into a pathway for his future. He has recently started a course at Kampala Music School, where he is learning to play different instruments, with a particular focus on keyboard and music reading.
His dream is to become a music and instrument teacher, passing on the skills and passion he is developing to others.
But Rama is already using his gifts to make a difference.
At the centre, he is especially involved with the dance group, helping the young people develop their skills and confidence. He also plays an important role in coordinating activities among everyone at the centre. Rama is a natural organiser who is very good at taking ideas and instructions and turning them into action. When a programme needs to happen, he is often one of the people helping to make sure it does.
And then there is Rama’s energy.
He has an infectious enthusiasm that brings life to the centre and encourages those around him. His love for music and dance is not something he keeps to himself—it is something he shares with others.
Rama is also working hard to improve his English. While communicating in English can sometimes be a challenge for him, he continues to learn, practise and push himself forward. His determination to grow is another reflection of the young man he is becoming.
Thanks to the support of his sponsor, Rama has been given opportunities to develop his talents, pursue his education and begin building the future he dreams of.
His story is a reminder that when a young person is given the chance to discover their gifts, those gifts can become something much bigger—a career, a source of confidence, and a way to inspire others.
Rama’s journey is just beginning.
From the keyboard to the dance floor, from coordinating programmes at the centre to dreaming of becoming a teacher, Rama is finding his voice and learning how to use his talents to serve others.
His passion is contagious. His potential is exciting. And with continued opportunity and support, his future is full of possibilities
